Formula Systems has announced the appointment of Cirrus International Limited to represent the company in New Zealand for its range of elevator safety edges and the Orator annunciator.

Formula Systems, a leading manufacturer of safety edge curtains and the Safescreen brand, has announced a new range of "controller-less" infra-red (IR) elevator door protection devices for direct connection into contemporary door controls. The new range, designated FCU⁴⁷, has optically synchronised edges which connect directly into any compatible door controller in a similar manner to photocells.

The new product provides benefits of quicker and simpler installation, reduced system maintenance and lower product cost. For applications such as modernisation where old-style door controllers are in use, a universal interface is available which provides low voltage power to the edges and relay outputs to connect with the elevator door controls.
